CROWD FARMED - MAY 2013

The plan was anything but simple: Cater to 2,200 discerning TEDxSydney attendees using nothing more than the food grown in their own backyards (or balconies or windowsills). What could go wrong with relying on a community spread across NSW to not only cultivate their own produce but transport it to the Sydney Opera House by May 4 2013?

Jill Dupleix puts it best. "The crowd-farming initiative at TEDxSydney succeeded in bringing together so many independent voices in the local real food movement – in fact, I don’t think they realised they WERE a food movement until then. So the best is yet to come."

The MilkBar worked closely with TEDxSydney to produce a short film about the crowd farming initiative which was screened in the concert hall at the Sydney Opera house on the day.
